I hereby declare this style of mine, if it hasn’t already been claimed elsewhere, as Jewel Punk. Rappers, delight!
I got tired of the bright colors of my Tesla Model S background hurting my eyes, so I made this Art Deco’ish desktop background from scratch just now. It’s 1920 x 1200, but you can easily use GIMP to scale it to any size. I highly recommend the “Sinc (Lanczos 3)” scaling filter in GIMP for this application. Please let me know if you get any use out of the image. The second picture is a screenshot of it on my Windows 7 box.
Please check out one of the projects I’m starting…
p.s. Here’s what a square meter might look like .. 🙂

I was just reading in a forum that this may be a way of making the Internet more resilient…. I must know more.. Holler in the comments if you can help us all learn more about it. 🙂
I’m going to try and find a video to help understand the concept better.
edit 1: Well, I haven’t been able to find any videos on the subject. It’s morning, so my Google pimpin’ skills are yet in swing for the day…
Anyway, I found this, which looks informative:
I designed this as a standing height desk to be built to my actual (uncommon) dimensions. It’s meant to accommodate a treadmill at some point (still need to double check the dimensions for this part). It’s to be constructed of cheap 2×4’s, dowels and glue, and 2 x Ikea 8′ Lagan Countertops. I put the expense at no more than $200, but it will probably be far less. —
I hope to do some high quality renders soon. — -joshua
Edit 1: I’ve been thinking more about the desk. I’d like to find some sort of cool drawer-like container for the slots (e.g. banker’s boxes)? It would also make more sense if it were modular, so it can be easily moved into tight spaces, by an individual. -j
